Featured Speaker: Dick Taylor
Program Title: "History On A Stick"

The October 2010 meeting of the Granville County Genealogical Society will be held on October 7 at 6:30 PM.  The speaker for the evening will be the society’s Vice President, Dick Taylor.  He will describe North Carolina’s Highway Historical marker program and discuss the markers located in Granville County with an expanded comment on the subject matter of each marker.

Taylor was born and raised in Oxford,  He was educated in the local schools and at the University of North Carolina, with post graduate training in Baltimore Maryland.  After a tour in the U.S. Navy, he returned to Oxford where he was engaged in a family medical practice for 34 years.  After his retirement, he has enjoyed doing genealogical and historical research.

Please join with the members of the society at this meeting to be held at 6:30 PM on October 7, 2010 in the County Commissioner’s Meeting Room at 145 Williamsboro Street (across the street from Sunrise Biscuits) in Oxford.  All GCGS meetings are open to the public and guests are cordially invited to attend.
